What you are paying for as the price rises
Capacity and coverage. The single biggest driver. Moving from 20 to 50 litres a day raises the rated room size about two and a half times, from 70 m² to 175 m².
Air purification. A true HEPA filter turns a dehumidifier into a 2-in-1 appliance. Lukas Pro includes one; Lukas can take one as a AED 199 option, or comes bundled as Lukas Smart.
Smart control. Wi-Fi and app control and remote humidity read-out add cost. Albert deliberately leaves them out, which is why it is the cheapest 20-litre model in the range.
Noise engineering. Quieter running at a given capacity costs more to design; Albert’s 33 dB(A) minimum is the lowest figure in the range.

The running cost, not just the purchase price
Power consumption is published for every model: Theo 280 W, Albert 270 W, Lukas 260 W and Lukas Pro 545 W. A unit controlled by a hygrostat only runs when humidity is above your target, so real consumption depends on how leaky and how humid the space is rather than on the rating alone. Two costs are easy to forget: replacement HEPA filters (AED 199 for the Lukas and Lukas Pro filters, replaced when visibly dirty) and the electricity of running a machine continuously in a room that is not actually damp – which is why measuring with a hygrometer first is worth the small outlay.
