Stadler Form Lukas is a 20-litre-per-day smart dehumidifier with Wi-Fi app control, rated for rooms up to 70 m² (175 m³), and the model we recommend for UAE apartments: a one- or two-bedroom flat in Dubai Marina or JLT, a master bedroom with en-suite, a home office or a studio. The compressor unit runs on four power levels with a digital hygrostat, so you set a target – typically 50–55 % relative humidity – and Lukas holds it, switching itself off when the target is reached or the tank is full. Through the Stadler Form app over Wi-Fi you can read the current humidity, start or stop the unit and set a 24-hour timer before you get home (1–9 hours on the unit itself). Measure first with a hygrometer: air conditioning can remove moisture as part of cooling but may not maintain the desired indoor relative humidity under every operating condition, and not every UAE room is too humid.

Laundry-drying mode is the feature apartment owners use most. With balcony drying restricted in many towers, Lukas uses its swing outlet to move dry air across a clothes rack and dries damp laundry noticeably faster than a rack alone. Night mode brings sound down to 38 dB(A) (38–52 dB(A) overall) for use in an occupied bedroom, a child lock keeps the settings fixed, and the defrost function allows operation in rooms as cool as 5 °C. Water collects in the 4.2-litre tank with automatic switch-off, or the included hose gives continuous drainage while you are away; side handles and concealed castors make it easy to move between rooms.

How do I connect Lukas’s drainage hose for continuous drainage?

Fit the included hose to the drain connection on the back of Lukas (the manual shows the exact position) and route it to a floor drain, bathroom outlet or balcony drain. Keep the outflow end lower than the connection so the water runs off by gravity, and avoid kinks. With the hose fitted the tank is bypassed and Lukas runs unattended; without it, the 4.2-litre tank stops the unit automatically when full.

Will my settings be saved if there is a power failure?

Lukas restarts with its last settings after a brief power cut, so a hygrostat target survives an outage. If you rely on unattended operation while travelling, use the Stadler Form app: it shows whether the unit is running and lets you switch it back on remotely.

Lukas is leaving water on the floor – what should I check?

After long use, or in a dusty room, the internal water outlet can become blocked so that condensate no longer reaches the tank and escapes underneath the unit. Switch Lukas off, check that the tank is seated correctly and that the hose (if fitted) is not kinked or running uphill, then clean the water outlet as described in the manual. If the problem persists, contact Stadler Form UAE and our engineers will inspect the unit.

Why does Lukas show defrost mode?

Lukas has an automatic defrost function that lets it work in rooms as cool as 5 °C: when the cooling coil ices up, the compressor pauses briefly while the fan clears it. In an air-conditioned UAE room at 18–24 °C this should appear rarely and only for a few minutes. If defrost stays on at normal room temperature, it points to a fault – contact Stadler Form UAE for a warranty check.

Is Lukas a 2-in-1 dehumidifier and air purifier?

Only when the optional filter is fitted. Lukas is sold as a dehumidifier; adding the Lukas HEPA H11 filter (AED 199) lets it also remove fine particles from the air it draws through. Is Lukas quiet enough for a bedroom?

Lukas runs at 38–52 dB(A); in night mode it starts at 38 dB(A), which most people find acceptable in a bedroom. It is a compressor unit, so it is quiet rather than silent. If the lowest possible noise matters more than Wi-Fi and laundry mode, Albert at 33–44 dB(A) is the quietest dehumidifier in our range.

Lukas or Albert – which 20-litre dehumidifier should I choose?

Both remove up to 20 litres per day and cover rooms up to 70 m². Choose Lukas if you want Wi-Fi app control, laundry-drying mode, a child lock and the option of adding a HEPA filter later; choose Albert if you want the quietest unit (33–44 dB(A)) and a simpler control panel at a lower price. Neither is a fit for a whole villa floor – that is Lukas Pro territory.

Lukas carries a 2-year warranty. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, or its service agent, or a qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
Stadler Form refuses all liability for loss or damage that arises as a result of failure to follow these operating instructions.
The appliance is only to be used in the home for the purposes described in these instructions. Unauthorised use and technical modifications to the appliance can lead to danger to life and health.
Prior to any maintenance, cleaning and after each use, switch off the appliance and unplug the mains cable from the socket.

Do not store the appliance outdoors.
Always transport the dehumidifier in an upright position. Before using the dehumidifier for the first time, leave it standing in an upright position for 24 hours. Always stand the dehumidifier in an upright position immediately after transporting the appliance and wait for at least 60minutes before switching it back on. The water tank must be emptied every time before transport.
Place the dehumidifier on a firm, even, waterproof surface. Make sure it is standing securely so that the dehumidifier cannot tip over or fall down. If it tipped over, please pull out the plug at once. Water can damage furniture and floor coverings.
Unwind the cord completely. An incompletely unwound cord can lead to overheating and cause a fire.
Do not immerse the dehumidifier into water or any other liquids and do not pour water or any other liquids onto the appliance or into the air intake and air outflow vents.
Do not use the appliance in immediate vicinity of a bath tub, a shower or a swimming pool (observe a minimum distance of 3m). Place the appliance such that a person in the bath tub cannot touch the appliance.
Do not place the appliance near a heat source. Do not subject the power cord to direct heat (such as a heated hotplate, open flames, hot iron sole plates or heaters for example). Protect power cords from oil.
Do not use the dehumidifier if it is faulty or could show signs of damage, or if it is not functioning correctly. Disconnect the plug from the power socket.
Never insert your fingers or any other objects into the air inlet or outlet. Do not cover the appliance during operation.
Do not sit or stand on the appliance.
Discard of the water in the water tank when the tank is full.
Do not operate the appliance in a closed area such as inside a closet, as it may cause a fire.
Warning: the appliance shall be installed, operated and stored in a room with a floor area not less than the minimum room area stated in the instruction manual for your model (4 m² for Lukas, Lukas Titanium and Lukas Smart; 7.2 m² for Lukas Pro).
When operating to dry clothes keep the clothing at least 50 cm away from the unit and do not allow water to drip onto the unit.
If using the appliance with the drainage hose, make sure the end of the hose is lower than the spout, otherwise the water will not drain and flooding may occur.
If any parts of the appliance are damaged, please contact the retailer or a designated repair shop.

The dehumidifier functions optimally at a room temperature of between 13 °C and 35 °C. The specified dehumidifying performance is only achievable in the higher temperature range (from 22 °C) and with higher room humidity (from 70%). The lowest recommended operating temperature is 5 °C. In case of lower temperatures, the DEFROST mode is activated too frequently. The highest operating temperature is 35 °C and the relative humidity is 80%.
